Villa Waimarie’s eco-friendly initiativesVilla Waimarie is doing its bit to protect the beautiful but fragile natural environment of Koh Samui.
In a bid to go "plastic-free” and also to conserve water – a precious commodity on the island, which often experiences water shortages during times of low rainfall – Villa Waimarie has installed an innovative new water system which extracts water from the air and then filters it to remove all impurities before adding minerals and adjusting alkalinity.
The end result is pure drinking water without a trace of chlorine or any other undesirable chemicals and, importantly, without the need to buy water in single-use plastic bottles, which are so detrimental to the environment.
The Pure Airwater system produces up to 30 litres of drinking water a day, which is stored in re-usable glass bottles and freely available to villa guests throughout their stay.
This one of many steps that Waimarie’s owners are taking to reduce the amount of single-use plastic at their villa. They hope very much that guests will appreciate these efforts and join with them in their endeavours to help protect Koh Samui’s beautiful tropical island environment.
